A Branch for Me!

Looking all around I searched for a tree but God reached out a BRANCH to me.

“All the shade you could ever need would be given by each leaf,”

Oh but Lord this will never do, I am looking for a Sycamore or two

He said, “I rejoice in the fact that you have seen now be still my child the Branch comes from me,
I come to you differently than I have some others they are lukewarm and not in need of any covers

Every element this world may deliver will never cause this Branch to whither

Just stand under it for yourself and see, did Elijah save his life under any tree?

Let me speak with you as I long to do but you must stand here so that your soul to me will be clear

What is it that troubles you, why is it you’re dismayed?

Your time is coming quickly my dear, come close so I’ll wipe your tears.

I have plans for you from which you can not hide, all I ask is that you abide.

Abide in me, I AM alive and active you’ll see.

See the Branch with which I choose to cover is my Son and your soul’s true lover.

He eagerly awaits His return for you but until that time there is much to do.

Now kneel and pray before the moment slips away go and tell others you know the way.”

Time Well Spent

I want you to know that if I am ever half the woman, wife, or mother you are, I would be complete.

I have never met a person, who was so genuinely kind, I could never compete.

You can never imagine what an example you have been
You have been more than a co-worker; you are my mentor, my friend.
I had to let you know what an impression you have made on my life;
The stories you have shared will be carried with the greatest delight.
I want you to know, in case tomorrow is not here,
That you have made my life most dear.
Only a heart as kind and strong as yours,
Could happily manage this life with all its detours.
Again, I can not say how much to me you have meant,
All I know is that it was time well spent!

Dedicated to Martha Evans Valencius, a woman who defines the term Proverbs 31. For her namesake, Evans, my sons middle name was given. I love you Martha!

Ingredients to an Everlasting MARRIAGE

Mercy For the many times you must forgive as Christ forgave you

Admiration May the spark in your eyes never fade from the Lord or each other

Respect To honor the Lord and one another daily

Reverence May you always be each other’s hero

Intimacy For when you share secrets

Agape For the love that loves beyond all understanding

God To realize marriage takes not two but three

Endurance To be able to practice all the ingredients daily

Love, Rachele Posey

Reflections of Her

Please forgive the juvenille nature of this poem. I wrote this at age 14 in response to realizing my mother was really never coming back but I knew one day I would see her again.

Reflections of the days gone by
Reflections of the days I cry
I think of her and here they come,
one by one they run.
Reflections of the day she died
Reflections of the day I cried
I found out that she gone
but soon discovered life would go on
I love her dearly and I miss her too
For others, like me, also do
The day my mother died was a day
in which all she knew had cried
She had many firends both far and near
most very close and all very dear.
When she had left half my life went too
I miss her and this much is true
I'll see her someday in the cherished sky
When this day comes, I will no longer cry
